One day I had this crazy revelation…
First: I haven’t asked that question to make judgments or comparisons. If you drank a hand pressed green vegetable juice then you are probably zooming around the house feeling awesome. If you just ate the Twinkie your kid found under their bed, that was processed the year I was born, and you also feel awesome then all the power to you!
Second: I did however ask that question because there is growing science and nutrition-based evidence that eating over-processed, highly-glutinous, sugary and yeasty foods are not only contributing to an obese population of children, but these same contributing factors are effecting EVERYONE'S ability to think clearly. My favorite book to reference on this subject is “Grain Brain," by David Perlmutter MD. Chef Jamie Oliver also has a lot to say about the subject of food health and self-care; you can listen to his award winning Ted Talk HERE.
Third: I’m not bringing this up to simply complain about it, instead I want to “be the change I want to see in the world” and apply that change in a way that honors my Natural Play Therapy (NPT) lifestyle. So, while I do that… I figured I’d blog about it on the NPT website in order to rally support and keep myself accountable.
QUESTION: How does Kristen plan to “be change” and become a healthier playbuddy and general human being?
ANSWER: She’s going to do what any self-respecting Life Coach would do and create an Action Plan, with measurable goals, for herself. YEAH!
