Educate Before You Vaccinate

A Healthier Way To Vaccinate (<click here to visit Generation Rescue's site about vaccine education)
In our work with over 500 families, we have come to see that the majority of families feel there is a link between their child's vaccinations and autism.  We are not here to tell you what to do as it is a very personal decision and we respect the views of all parents. We are also not a medical facility.  One of the main problems is a lack of education when it comes to vaccinating our children.  Generation Rescue is also a reliable source who informs parents of healthier ways to vaccinate our kids.

-A Hepatitis B Vaccine is recommended for all infants on day one of life

The virus is found in the blood and body fluids of infected persons and can be spread through sexual contact; the sharing of needles or razors; from mother to infant during birth; and by living in a household with an infected person.

A question to ask yourself:
Unless the mother has Hepatitis B, is it really important to give a brand new baby this vaccination?

Here are the questions the National Foundation For Infectious Diseases asks to help you determine if you are at risk for Hepatitis B:

  • Are you sexually active with multiple partners?
  • Are you a health care worker such as a nurse, doctor, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, laboratory technician, emergency room attendant, an employee of an institution for the developmentally disabled, or any other position that exposes you to potentially infected blood or body fluids?
  • Do you work in public safety positions such as fire and rescue or law enforcement?
  • Are you an immigrant from Asia, Africa, the Amazon Basin in South America, the Pacific Islands, Eastern Europe, or the Middle East?
  • Are you a Native American or Alaskan Native?
  • Do you live with someone who has hepatitis B?
  • Do you practice tattooing or body piercing?
  • Do you travel internationally to endemic areas?
  • Do you have hemophilia?
  • Are you receiving hemodialysis treatments?
  • Do you use street drugs?
  • Are you monogamous but have a partner who is at risk for hepatitis B infection?
...and yet ALL newborns are recommended to get this on day one.

-There has been a 260% increase of vaccinations given under the age of 6 over 25 years and a 633% increase of autism over 11 years in CA?

-In 1983, there were 10 vaccinations given to children before the age of 6.
-In 2007, there were 36 vaccinations given to children before the age of 6.

-From 1987-1998, there was a 633% increase in autism (DSM-IV) in the State of California.
(Note: In 1998, mandatory immunizations programs and the MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccine were introduced.)
-From 1998-2002 there was an additional 96% increase in Autism (DSM IV) in the State of California.

"Today, a 15-member Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices at the CDC decides which vaccines should be on the Childhood Immunization Schedule.

It calls for one vaccine, against hepatitis B, to be given on the day of birth; 7 vaccines at two months; 6 more (including booster shots) at four months; and as many as 8 vaccines on the six month well-baby visit.

Before a child reaches the age of two he or she will have received 32 vaccinations on this schedule, including four doses each of vaccines for Hemophilus influenzae type b infections, diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis — all of them given during the first 12 months of life.

Seven vaccines injected into a 13 lb. two-month old infant are equivalent to 70 doses in a 130 lb. adult.

A question to ask yourself:

Is it really important for my child to have all 36 vaccines by the age of six?

"Fifty years ago, when the immunization schedule contained only four vaccines (for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and smallpox), autism was virtually unknown. First discovered in 1943, this most devastating malady in what is now a spectrum of pervasive developmental disorders afflicted less than 1 in 10,000 children. Today, one in every 68 American families has an autistic child. Other, less severe developmental disorders, rarely seen before the vaccine era, have also reached epidemic proportions. Four million American children have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. One in six American children are now classified as "Learning Disabled."

Our children are also experiencing an epidemic of autoimmune disorders — Type I diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, and bowel disorders. There has been a 17-fold increase in Type I diabetes, from 1 in 7,100 children in the 1950s to 1 in 400 now. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis afflicts 300,000 American children. Twenty-five years ago this disease was so rare that public health officials did not keep any statistics on it. There has been a 4-fold increase in asthma, and bowel disorders in children are much more common now than they were 50 years ago."
